What people work on

Anxiety and depression, coming out, family and relationship stress, exploring sexuality or gender identity, the effects of discrimination, and trauma, including sexual and relationship violence. Many clients also come in for the same reasons anyone does, and want a therapist who simply gets it.

A therapist from the community

Katie is a lesbian and has a decade of experience in the LGBTQ community on sexual violence and mental health. She is attuned to the concerns LGBTQ+ clients face and passionate about this work.

Trauma-informed and contextual

Katie looks at the whole context of your life, including systems of power and oppression, and integrates psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and somatic approaches. She also offers EMDR for trauma.

Discreet, connected care

As a small private practice, we keep your care confidential. When medication may help, our board-certified psychiatrist can coordinate it within the same practice.

Frequently asked questions

What does LGBTQ+ affirming therapy mean?+

Your identity is respected as it is, never treated as the problem to solve. Your therapist understands the particular pressures LGBTQ+ people face and works on what you came in for.

Do I need to be sure about my identity to start?+

No. Many people come in while exploring their sexuality or gender identity. Therapy is a private place to think without pressure toward any answer.

How much does therapy cost?+

Individual therapy is $180 per 50-minute session. We are out-of-network by design and provide a superbill after each session so you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement.

Do you see couples or young adults?+

Katie works with adults and young adults individually. For couples work, our team includes therapists who see couples, and we can help you find the right fit.

Is therapy available virtually?+

Yes, in person in Bryn Mawr or virtually throughout Pennsylvania.
