A psychiatrist in Bryn Mawr who has time for the whole picture
Bryn Mawr Mental Health and Wellness is a concierge psychiatry practice on the Main Line led by Dr. Raena Khorram, MD, a board-certified psychiatrist licensed in Pennsylvania and New York. Evaluations run 85 minutes, follow-ups run 30, and therapy happens in the same practice — so your care is unhurried, intentional, and coordinated rather than split across offices.

What Bryn Mawr psychiatry looks like here
One psychiatrist, start to finish
Dr. Khorram conducts your evaluation and stays your prescriber. No rotating coverage, no re-explaining your history.
85-minute evaluations
Long enough to understand sleep, stress, medical history, hormones, and life context before a single prescription is written.
30-minute follow-ups
Not a fifteen-minute med check. Enough time to review response and side effects honestly and adjust deliberately.
Therapy in the same practice
Licensed psychotherapists working alongside your psychiatrist, so medication and therapy inform each other.
Interventional options
When depression has not responded to well-conducted medication trials, an FDA-cleared accelerated TMS course delivered over one week.
Discreet by design
A deliberately small panel, out-of-network structure, and private scheduling for patients who need care handled quietly.

Frequently asked questions
Who is the psychiatrist at Bryn Mawr Mental Health and Wellness?+
Dr. Raena Khorram, MD, a board-certified psychiatrist and the founder and medical director of the practice. She trained at Harvard, Thomas Jefferson, MIT, and Johns Hopkins, and is licensed in both Pennsylvania and New York. She leads all psychiatric evaluation and medication care personally.
What does a first psychiatry appointment look like?+
An 85-minute psychiatric evaluation. We take a full history — symptoms, medical conditions, prior medication trials, sleep, substances, hormones, family history, and what is actually happening in your life — before proposing anything. You leave with a plan you understand rather than a prescription and a follow-up card.
Where is the office and which towns do you serve?+
We are in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, 19010, minutes from Haverford, Villanova, Ardmore, Radnor, Wayne, Rosemont, Gladwyne, Narberth, and Wynnewood, with easy access from Lancaster Avenue and the Paoli/Thorndale line.
How quickly can I see a psychiatrist?+
Because the practice keeps a deliberately small panel, new patients are typically scheduled far sooner than at large group practices or hospital systems. Send a short note and our clinical coordinator will walk you through current availability.
What conditions do you treat?+
Depression, anxiety disorders, panic disorder, OCD, ADHD, bipolar spectrum conditions, PTSD, insomnia related to psychiatric illness, burnout, and perinatal and perimenopausal mood changes. We see adolescents 16+ and adults.
Can I get therapy and psychiatry in the same practice?+
Yes, and that is the point of the model. Our licensed psychotherapists work alongside your psychiatrist, so medication decisions are informed by what is happening in therapy and therapy adapts as medication changes. You are not coordinating between two offices.
Do you see patients virtually?+
Yes. Virtual psychiatry is available throughout Pennsylvania, and because Dr. Khorram is also licensed in New York, patients across New York City, Westchester, the Hudson Valley, and Long Island can be seen virtually.
Do you take insurance?+
We are an out-of-network concierge practice. We provide superbills you can submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Staying out of network is what allows the longer appointments and direct access this model depends on.
What if medication has not worked before?+
We review what was actually tried — which agents, at what dose, and for how long — because many so-called failed trials were under-dosed or too brief. When depression is genuinely treatment-resistant, we also offer an FDA-cleared accelerated TMS course delivered over one week.
